Tecno Camon 17 : Here's it is!

Overview

Last year, the Techno Camon 16 found a successor that brought a design update as well as an upgraded chipset. Otherwise, the Camon 17 doesn't make significant changes compared to previous models, especially when it comes to display specs.

Design and display

The display is smaller at 6.55 inches with a 720p resolution, but has a longer 20: 9 aspect ratio. The cartoon hole selfie camera is placed in the corner and has a vertical triple camera layout on the back. However, the fingerprint sensor is still in place.

Internal and storage

As mentioned earlier, the main chip set is more powerful than ever. Now you get MediaTek Helio G85SC with more GPU up to 4GB RAM as well as CPU power, but double the storage amount at 128GB. The microSD card slot still exists.

Camera

In the back, the main camera is sadly downgraded to 48MP unit (below 64MP). However, it is now paired with a 16MP ultra wide angle module, while the Camon 16 had only 8MP units. There is also 2MP Sensor for Portrait shots.

The cartoon hole front camera has also been demoted to an 8MP sensor (below 16MP).

Battery and pricing

The board has a large battery of 5000 mAh in which the phone should run smoothly for 2 days, but there is no mention of fast charging.

The Techno Camon 17 has just been launched in Kenya at $210. It should reach other markets soon.
