Realme launched the last iteration of its meaningful series in September 2020 in the form of Realme 7 Line. Now, it's time to upgrade. Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro are now official and seem to follow a similar formula for their predecessors. However, there are some key differences, improvements in debate, and some memories.

Aesthetically, the new series is very different from the old phones. With the slogan Dear to Leap, the Realme 8 series is taking advantage of a square camera head, now embellished in its shiny back plate. This is the distance from the more elliptical rows and shorter styling of the back line. New shape to suit everyone's taste. It may not be, but it definitely makes the phones stand out. We talk about it all in our Realme 8 Pro review.

Both models of the Realme 8 series are also quite light and thin. Realme 8 weighs 177 grams with a body thickness of 8 mm. Its pro sibling is 8.1 mm thick with a build of 176 grams.

If you are looking for similar rapid changes under this skin, you will definitely be disappointed. Both the Realme 8 and the Realme 8 Pro have chip sets used by their predecessors. For Realme 8, that's MediaTek Helio G95. Realme 8 Pro uses Snapdragon 720G.

Both phones run on batteries of the same capacity as the outgoing models. The Realme 8 has a large 5000mAh battery but speeds up to 30W. The Realme 8 Pro has a 4,500mAh battery but has a 50W charging. Specifically, the latter lacks the Realme 7 Pro's 65W capabilities, but still includes a 65W charger box.

Realme 8's camera load doesn't change much with Realme 7's. A 64MP primary shooter includes an 8MP ultraviolet, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP portrait shooter. The front now features a 16MP sensor with large f / 2.45 aperture.

Realme 8 features a 3GB configuration with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB options. The Pro model packs in 6GB and 8GB variants. Both the phones offer 128GB single storage option.

Speaking of software, the Realme 8 series is the first to come out of the box with the Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

So what's new? The Realme 8 series shows some remarkable progress compared to the previous version. For starters, it has a 6.4-inch 60hz AMOLED display with a brightness of 1000 nits. A display fingerprint sensor is also included. Although it drops the 90 Hz LCD panel used by Relium 7, the AMOLED screen offers deeper contrast and better power consumption. Users looking for a mid-range phone for gaming, though, should consider another device.

The Pro does improve its camera load though, and that's a title change for the series. It now has a 108 MP Samsung HM2 sensor which is the basic shooter with f / 1.88 aperture. You can snap in 108MP mode or select 12MP images using non-binding technology. The camera also packs what Realme calls the world's first tilt shift time lap mode and star time lapse video. The latter shoots 16 images of the night sky for four minutes every 15 seconds. It combines the final product into a 30 fps video. An 8MP Ultra Wide, 2MP Macro, and 2MP portrait shooter are also featured. On the front, the Pro also uses a 16MP selfie camera.
